This is the stereo in my 2011 C4 Picasso: Audio streaming via Bluetooth responds a bit differently (better!) to plugging directly into the USB socket, which gives "iPod" functionality. Same problem here with iPhone SE, recently upgraded to iOS 12 and Citroen C4 (2013). The bluetooth connection to the previous iOS versions was also so-so, but usually was working. This time, exactly like the topic owner - have I tried all of the above without success. The problem is definitely with iOS. Which iPhone do you guys have?
I had a hissing sound in the left side also around the vents of my 2005 C4. This hiss increased and decreased with acceleration and deceleration. It turned out to be a puncture hole in the rubber turbo pipe that feeds the inter cooler. The rubber had deteriorated causing a sort of "blow out".

Thank you for the information. The gearbox is a EAT 6 and it does have an Actuator to relay the commands on the column lever to the gearbox. I can understand that the Actuator could be faulty not selecting manual but cannot see how this would prevent the "Paddles" from working as they work instantly and wont rely on a motor activating the gearbox.
