On my car the the 2nd switch works the cruise and the high level light. The first switch works the 2 main brake lights. It is also worth checking the bulbs.
Question type: Maintenance & Repair. I changed headlight on 2006 Ford Focus Wagon. I then put a new license plate. light on from OReillys since original one was burned out on right side, though. left still worked. After doing this the new light worked but then as I drove away. the dash lights and tail lights and license plate light would not work.
New Member. 1. Ford Model: Focus. Posted December 3, 2009. Hi. I have a slight problem with my focus st170. Just the other day I noticed that my driver side tail light had stopped working. the brake light works fine. The passenger side tail light is fine as well. I just thought the bulb had gone so replaced it but with no success.
Hi, I changed the battery on my ford focus and now the Hazard light on the dash is stuck on solid red, the brake lights and signals will not work. The upper light on the hatch back will work. The Radio was also not working but after checking the fuses I found only one not burnt out and now the radio works.
Step 6: Replace the Tail Light Assembly. Lift the assembly back into place and turn the bulbs clockwise into the housing to secure them. Align the tab on the assembly and press it back into place. Fasten it from the inside by replacing the two plastic wingnuts, turning them clockwise. Snap the panel back in.
Ambers are always on, tail lights always on, vanity light always on and bright as [][][][][][]*, people think I'm in reverse at night. Even the dash appears lit up during the day, not 100% on this. Ambient light in drivers door has been broken since day 1. Setting the lights to the 2nd setting "parking lights" doesn't kill the headlights and DLRs.
How to fix. The fix is to pull out and clean the brake light switch contacts. Replace the switch and the brake light should be back on the dead side of the tail light. If the light comes on just slightly, add a little bit of dielectric grease and replace it again. The brake lights should now come on that tail light.
This version has limited support for the early Focus MK3.5. However after a short period Ford changed the hardware numbers of the MK3.5 IPC and BCM. These vehicles are not supported by the FoCCCus program. The Forscan program or the Ford IDS diagnostic system are much more suitible for the Focus MK3.5. 3.

Ford Mechanic: Mechanic01. If the fuse is ok it's going to be a fun troubleshooting step by step, ill be right back with those tests, you will also need a scan tool to access the SJB. Ask Your Own Ford Question. Oh crap i dont have a scanner. The fuse only lights up on one side of the fuse with test light.

Recommended Services. The stop lamp fuse is in the left kick panel inside the vehicle. It is a 15amp fuse that powers the stop light switch on the brake pedal. The brake light switch sends power to rear brake lights. Same problems. No tail lights, no parking lights, no license tag lights and no instrument panel lights. All other lights are working as they should be. Before I started, I disconnected the negative ground and began my search. All fuses except #30 - 10amp
After determining that the bulb was OK, we looked in the fuse box, and saw that one of the two 7.5 amp fuses for the tail lights was blown. A replacement fuse immediately popped. Today, we attempted to diagnose it with a VOM, and got some puzzling results. With the battery disconnected, both fuses pulled and the head-lamp switch in the off
